The Ruger Mark IV Rimfire Pistols have a similar appearance to the Mark III but feature a simplified one-button takedown for easier field stripping. With the push of a recessed button on the back of the frame, the upper receiver tilts up and off of the grip frame without requiring any tools. This allows for quick and convenient cleaning of the barrel from chamber to muzzle, as the bolt simply slides out of the receiver.The MKIV also introduces several other notable improvements. It features a one-piece grip frame that is CNC-machined from solid aluminum alloy for enhanced durability and precision. The pistol includes an ambidextrous manual safety and a redesigned bolt stop for improved ergonomics and user-friendly operation.The magazine drops free upon release, enabling faster reloads, and a redesigned magazine disconnect safety prevents discharge when the magazine has been removed.
