Additional Notes: The Winchester Model 97, also known as the M97 or simply the ’97, is a pump-action shotgun with an external hammer and tube magazine. It was first introduced in 1897 by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company and remained in production until 1957. The Model 97 was popular for its robust design and reliability, making it a favorite among sportsmen, law enforcement, and military forces. It was used in both World Wars and became known as the “Trench Gun” due to its effectiveness in close-quarters combat. The Model 97’s design influenced many later shotgun models and remains a classic firearm among collectors and enthusiasts.
